Sofia Pais distinguida pela WomenAt (W@)

Sofia Pais, Professora da Escola do Porto da Faculdade de Direito da UCP e Diretora do Centro de Estudos e Investigação em Direito, foi distinguida com o prémio Five Guide Star Women Competition Professionals pela organização internacional WomenAt (W@).

A 5th W@Competition Conference aconteceu em Bruxelas, no dia 2 de fevereiro, onde foram anunciados os vencedores do Prémio 5 Star Competition Professionals - Península Ibérica.

Sofia Pais recebeu o prémio na categoria "Academia - Guiding Stars". Este prémio celebra mulheres que se distinguem pelas suas notáveis capacidades profissionais na área de Antitrust de diferentes níveis de experiência - sejam elas profissionais que inspiraram os restantes especialistas da área, ou cujo trabalho e/ou conjunto de competências se distinguem.

Para a Professora “é uma honra receber esta distinção de "Guiding Star", na categoria de Academia na Península Ibérica, e é um prazer ser capaz de contribuir para o crescimento de uma verdadeira cultura da concorrência”.

O mesmo prémio, na categoria "Enforcement & Judiciary" foi atribuído a Margarida Matos Rosa - Presidente da Autoridade da Concorrência, e a Cani Fernández - Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia (Espanha).

Sofia Pais, Professor in Católica Porto Law School, was awarded with the Five Guide Star Women Competition Professionals distinction by the international organisation WomenAt (W@).

The 5th W@Competition Conference was held in Brussels on the 2nd of February and hosted the announcement of the 5 Star Competition Professionals Awards in Iberia.

Sofia Pais, Professor and Director of the Research Centre for the Future of Law, received the prize in the “guiding stars” group that aims to distinguish women professionals that are “trailblazers who have reached lead roles or have otherwise inspired with their professional expertise beyond the last five years, and who will typically count some 20 years’ experience in the competition field”, explains the organization.

In the words of Sofia Pais, “receiving the distinction of ‘Guiding Star’ in the category of Academia in Iberia, is a tremendous honour and it is a pleasure to be able to contribute for the growth of a real Antitrust culture”.

The same award, in the Enforcement & Judiciary category, was awarded to leading figures like the President of the Portuguese Competition Authority, Margarida Matos Rosa, and the President of the Spanish National Commission for Markets and Competition, Cani Fernández.
